Juniper
Juniper is Ron and Lisa Potter, a duo who want to invade mainstream music with a different kind of sound...the kind that entertains your mind, haunts your soul, and breaks some rules. Ron never followed through on his musical passions till he met Lisa at Bible college in 1991 and discovered the sex beast within. "You could say my creative juices exploded when we were together," he elaborates. "She was and remains inspiration to stay committed rather than be committed."The vocals, by Lisa, sound like an eclectic mix of classical training and sultry pop a la Shirley Manson. Lisa states that they work together as a team, but Ron writes all of the lyrics and most of the music. "I like to be his sounding board," states Lisa. "I lock him in a room, slide food under the door, and don't enter the room till I hear something creative!" Their inaugural titled release "Juniper" in 1999 was both training and testing ground. But with the album "Unspoken" in 2003, a more eclectic Juniper was evident. Throw in collaboration like rapper IKON and you have quite an unusual mix.Juniper is not a "niche" group. They want to carve out their own space. Having been dubbed "one of the best voices, and lyricists, in (uncategorizable) music today" by evolvingartist.com and Madalyn Sklar (founder of GoGirlsMusic.com) exclaiming Juniper as a duo "who know how to produce great music" they are well on their way.
