Sash!
小简介
Sash! is the DJ and keyboard player who is responsible for one of the biggest dancehits of 1997: Encore Une Fois. Sasha comes from Nettetal (near Monchengladbach and Venlo) in Germany. He was born in Wuppertal. One of his biggest hobbies is diving. He used to be a DJ in Kings, a disco where he started as a waiter and light-jockey. He also was electrical installation engineer before the big success. In Kings he met Ralf Kappmeier, and together they produced their first single Indian Rave under the name Careca. That single was not a big success in the sales-chart, but in the dancechart it did very well. In 1995 he started a Productionteam together with Thomas Lüdke (Alisso) and Ralf Kappmeier (Kappi). The result of this was the single It's My Life. The song was released in November 1995 on X-It Records and in 1996 it reached the DJ Charts in Europe. But the breakthrough came with the very catchy Encore Une Fois, with the voice of Sabine Ohmes. The song was released in November 1996 and reached in 1997 the top 10 of almost every country, including number 2 on the English chart. At X-It Records Sash! met Rodrguez, a DJ who was born in South-America (not Ecuador!) and now lives in Munich. With Rodriguez as frontman the song Ecuador was released in 1997, with a video shot at Tenerife. This again was a big hit in the whole of Europe and again number 2 in England. End 1997 Sash! released one of the best songs ever: Stay, a beautiful song with vocals from La Trec. Again this song reached the top 10 of several countries, but for the 3rd time the number 2 position was the highest possible spot in the English chart. Spring 1998 Sash! released another big hit: La Primavera. Again top 10 in several countries. A great video for this song was shot in Hawaii. The second single from the album Life Goes On was Mysterious Times with vocals from Tina Cousins who had some chart successes with Killing Time and Angel. Another guestvocalist was choosen for the 3rd single Move Mania. This time the vocals were from Shannen, known for her massive discohit Let The Music Play. Christmas 1998 Sash! released a single with African influences called Colour The World with guestvocals from Dr.Alban. After a pause end 1999 Sash! released Adelante!, again with some help of Rodriguez.
Sash! also does remixes for other artists. Listen to 2 Unlimited (Spread Your Love), Space Frog (Follow Me), Jean Michel Jarre (Oxygene 10), Nikolai (Ready To Flow) and Dr.Alban (Mr.DJ) for more Sash! sounds. A list (I think not complete) of Sash! remixes can be found here
