In current times, heavy music is being bombarded by talented people who think that what they're doing is so good, they're actually calling themselves musicians and selling a heap of albums, T-shirts, touring around seeing some great places and fuckin' hot chicks.
They even make up their own genres.
But we didn't like them.
Things are too serious, and although there's a time and a place... lets face it, a fart is always hilarious.
Why not take the ugly, messed-up and politically incorrect things that surround us, and create a soundtrack for it all?
Besides; there isn’t any music that combined all the coolest shit in music, like stoner rock riffs, slams, and pitch-shifters all mushed up into one stinky pile of bad taste, and by dudes - not by fashion victims with scene points.
Until now.
Three larrikins met, and the world of heavy music would never be the same.
Early 2010 – The Mung hit the studio to lay down “The Splatter Sessions” at Goatsound Studios (with engineer Jason P.C. of Blood Duster) to which was signed under German based label within just only 4 months of inception, and with heavy support and phenomenal reaction, The Mung added a live bassist to complete the line-up, and commenced Nationwide touring and promotion for The Splatter Sessions.
Australia's extreme music underground felt the brown notes pass through.
Add a few months and The Mung have tracked another stinker, James Turfrey stepped aside from vocal duties, Rob Taylor stepped in, more shows...
And now we wait 'till you can hear the disc,
We hope you hate it.
