DJ Venom
by Diana PottsVenom began DJing in 1989, involved in the hip-hop scene. Through working at a local radio station, he met and started working with the hip-hop music director. Venom's interest in the music grew and he took it on as a full-time occupation. In 1991 with the coaxing from some fellow DJs, Venom went to his first techno/house event and immediately took to it, leaving the hip-hop world behind. In 2000, he released his first mix CD, Straight Bangin, which was followed in 2001 by House Blend, Vol. 7. Successive volumes in each series followed, as did Raise the Volume (2002), a similar mix album highlighting Venom's quick mixing and hardcore aesthetic.
