I want to create electronic music that knows no bounds or overdone sounds. I want to take music with soul and recreate it. I want to bring back music from the decades and teach people about the groove.
2013 has been immense so far. Defunk has recently come back from a successful tour in the UK and in Australia, and all three of his Beatport releases have hit number #1 in their respective genres with the newly released &Welcome to Groove City& EP hitting #10 on Beatport overall. Big thanks to Simplify Recordings for releasing &Spells& and High Chai Recordings for releasing &Retro Baby.& Who knows what the next year will hold in store for Defunk now that he has turned the heads of Pretty Lights and Opiuo to name a few.
