John Potter
English singer, writer and academic.
He started his career in the 70es in several avant-garde projects (Swingle II, Electric Phoenix, New London Consort).
After being backing vocalist for Manfred Mann, The Who or Mike Oldfield among others, he joined the Hilliard Ensemble in 1984 (which he left 17 years later).
In 1989 he started the ensemble Red Byrd.
He is now a teacher in York and coaches several ensembles in Europe and in the USA.
